GREAT SCOTT! GAMES

Now an imprint of Great Scott! Press, GS!G began publishing the HIDEOUTS & HOODLUMS roleplaying game in 2009.  Since then, there have been 29 products published for the game. The following is a sampling of them.

Hideouts & Hoodlums [Basic Rules]
2nd Edition

This version of H&H (available in both e-book and print) combines the game of 1977 with the comic books of 1935-1941 to create something both comfortably familiar and startlingly new. The game is still largely compatible with first edition, with additional material like a skill set, a new sample hideout, and a sample metropolis to use as a home base for your heroes. This "basic" book contains everything you need to play a endless standalone sessions, or to run a campaign up through sixth level.

This edition was thoroughly researched by reading every comic book readily accessible from the years 1935-1939, so as to best emulate the wild and wacky fun of the comics of those times!  

Supplement V: Big Bang Comics

The fifth and final supplement for 1st edition was officially endorsed by Gary Carlson and Chris Ecker of Big Bang Comics and was made with their research assistance. It contains new rules for emulating Big Bang Comics, including rules for a time-hopping campaign; new races, mobsters, and trophies culled from the pages of Big Bang Comics; sample stats for the biggest names in the Big Bang Comics universe, and a chronological index of stories from 1938 up into the 1970s. 

While not 100% compatible with second edition, Supplement V is a valuable resource for any fan of Big Bang Comics! (This product is only available as an e-book.)

RT1 Palace of the Vamp Queen

The second ready-to-run adventure module for H&H, Palace is for hero levels 1-3 and is complete with historical notes, tips for running the game, and all the trappings you would expect from an Old School module -- wandering encounter tables, hand-drawn maps, lots of rooms to explore -- and as much mobster-kicking, trophy-snatching action as you can fit into 26 pages.

While not 100% compatible with second edition, RT1 can easily be adapted to the new rules and furnish your campaign with multiple sessions of fun!

RT2 Adventures in Fun Land

A HIDEOUTS & HOODLUMS Adventure Module for Hero Levels 3-5. What could be more fun than an amusement park? Maybe an abandoned amusement park, sinking into a swamp, filled with deadly danger? That makes it the perfect setting for a hideout that the heroes can explore and loot! And what does Mr. Mesmer want with the park...?

 

This module contains background information, Editor's notes, plus maps and exploration keys. It provides a complete adventure for play of HIDEOUTS & HOODLUMS (2nd edition), and it can be used alone or as the second of a series of expedition adventures which also includes HIDEOUT MODULE RT1 (Palace of the Vamp Queen).
